On November 3 and 4, Las Ventas Bullring became the centre of transatlantic economic cooperation as it hosted the 16th Ibero-American Business Meeting, organized by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE). Auxadi sponsored the event as part of its longstanding commitment to supporting business development on both sides of the Atlantic. The firm reaffirmed its role as a strategic partner in promoting trade expansion and bilateral investment between the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
Throughout the two-day event, Cristina Hernández and David Sánchez, Account Managers at Auxadi, represented the firm at this high-level institutional gathering, which was attended by His Majesty King Felipe VI, the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and several Ibero-American heads of state and government. The Auxadi delegation highlighted the work carried out by the company through its Madrid and Miami hubs, which enable it to connect Ibero-America with major economies such as the United States.
Cooperation in Ibero-America
Antonio Garamendi, President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), opened the meeting at Las Ventas by emphazising the importance of public-private collaboration: “Dialogue between governments and businesses must help turn summit priorities into proposals and real commitments”.
The 30th Ibero-American Summit brought together the highest representatives of the countries in the region. Pedro Sánchez stressed that organizing these forums is “very important” to reaching agreements. In his speech, he highlighted the forthcoming agreement on artificial intelligence (AI), warning that “major powers are ignoring international law or failing to give it the importance it deserves.”
Luis Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic, took part in a roundtable discussion alongside the Spanish Prime Minister and emphasised that “there must be a strong institutional framework and a government willing to act in the area of permits and licensing”.
Sponsored by Auxadi, the meeting focused on Ibero-America’s international relevance. Roberto Suárez, Secretary-General of the International Organization of Employers (IOE), noted that “there is talent in the region”, adding that this factor “will generate returns very quickly” across Ibero-America.
José Luis Bonet, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, highlighted that “building trust” applies equally to countries and businesses. His view takes on particular significance amid global geopolitical instability, shaped by the active role of the United States and its growing engagement with various Latin American leaders.
Driving Ibero-America forward
His Majesty King Felipe VI brought the event to a close by referring to the impact that developments this year have had on global trade: “Competition for energy, technology and supply chains is redrawing the map of the global economy”. Spain’s Head of State highlighted Ibero-America’s prosperity: “We have resources and capabilities, enormous energy potential, a key role to play in global food security and unique diversity”.
The 16th Ibero-American Business Meeting, sponsored by Auxadi on November 3 and 4, brought together more than 2,000 professionals at Las Ventas Bullring in Madrid.
The firm’s sponsorship of the event reflects its more than 15 years of experience in the Ibero-American market. Auxadi is grateful to the CEOE for the opportunity to take an active part in this event, which offered significant business and institutional value.
