In late April, Honduran public institutions agreed on the minimum wage that will apply in the country for 2026 and 2027. This adjustment for paid work affects all sectors, which are also categorized by company size.

The update was achieved through public-private collaboration between companies and public agencies in Honduras. These discussions focused on improving working conditions, which Honduran society continues to develop each year.

The minimum wage adjustment

The government announced the wage adjustment applicable for the years 2026 and 2027, representing a significant increase over the minimum wage established for 2025:

The wage difference for the months prior to the measure (from January through April 2026) must be compensated by companies by July 31.

Adjustment for inflation

This wage reform will take into account the year-over-year inflation rate for December 2026, as reported by the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH), with the aim of making another wage adjustment for 2027.
