Margarita García, CRO of Auxadi, participated in the program ‘El punto sobre la i’ on Informa Radio on March 9, in a panel discussion dedicated to analyzing the strategic relevance of financial education in the current context. In this space, she shared her vision and experience alongside José Luis Lizcano, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Contea Foundation, and José Manuel Oviedo, senior advisor of the same entity, under the moderation of Julio Bonmatí, the program’s director.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of this national reference economic station, served to delve into the pedagogical work of the Contea Foundation. This institutional relationship has been recently strengthened with the incorporation of Víctor Salamanca, CEO & Board Member of Auxadi, as a new trustee of the foundation, consolidating the firm’s commitment to the dissemination and rigor of financial culture.

Introducing finance in schools

The Contea Foundation is committed to “creating very practical programs and projects aimed at introducing these subjects in the best way into educational systems”. This work is carried out, according to José Manuel Oviedo, because of “a lack of knowledge in economic matters”.

“Early debt, irresponsible use of credit, and a lack of savings” are the biggest problems noted by the Contea Foundation. On the other hand, the institution believes that “money is one of the first things that provides you with freedom”.

Assimilation and practice

Margarita García, Chief Revenue Officer of Auxadi, stated that “much more practical teaching with much simpler daily concepts” is necessary. For this reason, the educational model should serve as a help to “not make avoidable mistakes”.

The three experts agreed that this curriculum should be introduced “in compulsory education, both in secondary school and high school”, with “equality of opportunity” as the main argument.

Inter-organizational cooperation

During the meeting, Auxadi and the Contea Foundation delved into the development of TQento, an educational platform sponsored by Víctor Salamanca’s firm. This tool, designed with an innovative pedagogical approach, will be made available to teachers to facilitate the teaching of financial culture through dynamic resources of high didactic value.

Margarita García’s intervention in this radio program reinforces Auxadi’s commitment to creating spaces for analysis on financial education. This discipline is consolidating as an essential resilience tool for individuals, entities, and institutions to successfully navigate the complexities and adversities of the global economic environment.

Auxadi cooperates with the Contea Foundation to promote economic study and analysis in Spain; an action reinforced by the presence of Víctor Salamanca, CEO & Board Member of the firm, as a trustee. There has also been collaboration with AECA for many years, with Auxadi being the first Spanish company to obtain the Accredited Accounting Expert (ECA) certification.
