Peru: annual economic growth

01/04/2026|Finance, Investment||

The World Bank reported that its growth projection for the Peruvian economy for 2025 and 2026 remains at 3% and 2.5%, respectively. Furthermore, it announced that a GDP growth rate of 2.5% is also forecast for 2027.

National and international projections

With this estimate, the World Bank holds a more moderate position compared to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

Additionally, the BCRP predicts the economy will shift by 3% in 2026, compared to the MEF’s 3.2%. This phenomenon is due to greater dynamism in private investment in mining, infrastructure, and consumption. This sector consolidates a growth of 14.5%, establishing the country as a regional leader in non-traditional export dynamism through November 2025.

Higher growth in three sectors

This positive performance is mainly attributed to:

  • Agricultural sector: an increase in shipments of high-value-added products (such as blueberries, grapes, and avocados).
  • Fishing sector: a significant recovery in the processing of products for direct human consumption.
  • Non-Metallic mining: increased demand for phosphates and other chemical derivatives.

On the other hand, the BCRP indicates that the most dynamic sectors in 2026 will be agriculture (3%), hydrocarbons (4.9%), commerce (3%), and services (3.5%).

Conclusion

This result is key for the Peruvian economy, as non-traditional exports generate the highest added value and formal employment across various regions of the country.
