Auxadi, Spanish multinational providing internationalization services, has sealed a strategic alliance with Nebrija University and the Nebrija Foundation to strengthen the analysis and generation of knowledge regarding the internationalization of Iberian companies.
This collaboration has been consolidated by renaming the research space: ‘Nebrija Auxadi Iberian Internationalization Observatory’, promoted by the Nebrija Chair in Business Internationalization and presented in 2025.
With the addition of Auxadi, the observatory reinforces its mission to generate high-quality, applied knowledge on the competitiveness of Iberian economies in an increasingly complex global environment. The firm’s Spanish roots and its 25-year track record in Portugal, combined with an international team of over 300 professionals, will drive strategic analysis of the Iberian region’s export flows.
The ‘Nebrija Auxadi Iberian Internationalization Observatory’ aims to promote studies and activities that deepen the understanding and dissemination of the internationalization of Iberian companies. This initiative will contribute to greater awareness of its importance within the societies and administrations of both countries, while strengthening relationships between business leaders and academics in the field of internationalization.
Methodological rigor and a forum for reflection
“For Auxadi, it was essential to find an academic institution that applied rigor to the study of a phenomenon as complex as internationalization”, says Víctor Salamanca, CEO & Board Member of Auxadi. The firm’s top representative expanded on his vision for the agreement: “With the signing of this agreement, we will support the Iberian Internationalization Observatory as an essential pillar for interpreting, with the depth it deserves, the trends defining Spain and Portugal’s position in an increasingly competitive global environment. For us, this methodological rigor is non-negotiable, as we consider it the foundation that allows data to be transformed into reliable knowledge and, subsequently, into sound business decisions”.
Auxadi was founded in Spain, and its first international office was, precisely, in Portugal. Today, it has its own offices in 26 countries and operations in over 50. “We support multinationals and real estate structures, becoming an extension of their accounting departments in legal, tax, or labor matters, including transfer pricing. We are certain that we will expand our collaboration in other areas with Nebrija University, providing value to society through the dissemination of knowledge, among other initiatives”, adds Víctor Salamanca.
On behalf of Nebrija University, Gonzalo Solana, Director of the Nebrija Chair in Business Internationalization, views this observatory “as a meeting place for reflection and analysis for all individuals, companies, and institutions interested in this process, which has been so decisive for Spain and Portugal from both an economic and social perspective”.
“Collaborating with a company like AUXADI -a magnificent example of the success of non-tourism service exports from Iberian countries- will help us boost our activities and incorporate new approaches into our research and dissemination of corporate internationalization”, states Gonzalo Solana.
About the Iberian Internationalization Observatory
The Iberian Internationalization Observatory was formally established during the 2024-2025 academic year, a period in which the first ‘Iberian Internationalization Notebooks’ and the ‘2024 Annual Iberian Internationalization Report’ were produced.
Among the activities planned for this new stage with Auxadi as a key partner, the Observatory will periodically produce the ‘Iberian Internationalization Notebooks’ -there will be four in total in 2026. These publications will analyze the recent evolution of foreign trade and international investment, as well as various relevant aspects of internationalization for Portugal and Spain. Specifically, each year an analysis will be dedicated to key issues for the internationalization of Iberian companies in Latin America, including aspects related to taxation and administrative procedures.
Based on this work, the ‘Annual Iberian Internationalization Report’ will be prepared and presented annually, consolidating the ‘Nebrija Auxadi Iberian Internationalization Observatory’ as an academic and professional benchmark in the study of internationalization.
