Peru: increases its national exports

The Peruvian market's momentum is undeniable: ADEX's Center for Research on Global Economy and Business (CIEN) confirms that the number of Peruvian exporting companies grew by a solid 5.5% during the first half of 2025. This growth, reported on August 15th, translates into 7,077 active companies in the exporting ecosystem, significantly outpacing the figures from the same period in 2024.

Recovery of exports

Despite the exit of 2,110 companies from the international market, the situation recovered with the entry of 2,478 new entities. These entities are mainly micro and small enterprises (SMEs), which have driven the growth of exports in Peru.

Furthermore, it was revealed that micro-enterprises (4,132) represented 58.4% of the total, followed by small enterprises (2,389) with 33.8%. Meanwhile, large companies (379) stood at 5.4%, and medium-sized companies (177) at 2.5%. Thus, micro, small, and medium enterprises concentrated 94.6% of the growth among all exporters.

Top exporting sectors

The sectors with the largest company presence were:

  • Agroindustry (1,963);
  • Metalworking (1,325);
  • Mining (1,230);
  • Chemical (1,125).

However, other industries also stood out, though to a lesser extent: iron and steel (siderometalurgical) (402); non-metallic mining (327); fishing and aquaculture (282); wood (129); jewelry (88); and hydrocarbons (35).

Many countries around the world received exporting companies from Peru. For example, the leading destination in this period was the United States with 1,846 companies. Then, organizations like the European Union (1,628), as well as Chile (1,469), Ecuador (1,042), United Arab Emirates (1,026), India (866), Colombia (745), and Bolivia (700), were also the targets of entities originating in Peru.

Conclusions

Peru's export dynamism was evident in the 2025 financial year, thus boosting the economy and the exposure of various sectors. This activity attracts investors and third parties to foster economic growth.
