Last Tuesday, November 18, the Padrón Campus of Miami Dade College hosted the first edition of Auxadi’s LATAM Days held in Miami. This event, replicating the success of its Madrid edition, established itself as a key forum for analyzing U.S. capital investment in Latin America.

With the participation of more than twenty-six renowned speakers across more than five hours of conferences and presentations, a hundred professionals from various fields and sectors gathered to discuss capital flow in the region.

The dynamism of the event facilitated a deep understanding of a region that is as complex as it is prosperous. This gathering featured representatives from international firms: CaixaBank, Cuatrecasas, Deloitte, Garrigues, LLYC, Pérez-Llorca, Santander, and White & Case, among others. The main trade promotion agencies of the region also participated: ApexBrasil, CINDE, ProChile, ProColombia, and PromPerú.

The aim was to provide attendees with a comprehensive vision of the opportunities, challenges, and critical aspects of compliance and investment strategy in LATAM.

This edition was organized by Auxadi, in collaboration with the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Florida, Osborne, and Miami Dade College.

From Miami to Latin America

The choice of Miami for this edition of LATAM Days responds to Auxadi’s strategy of establishing Miami as a hub for expanding U.S. operations into Latin America. This decision, in turn, reinforces Auxadi’s presence in Florida, where its new offices in Coral Gables are located.

LATAM Days Miami kicked off with opening speeches by Víctor Salamanca, CEO & Board Member of Auxadi, and Mónica Vázquez, President of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in Florida. The Spanish firm’s CEO highlighted: “The region and, especially, the city have become benchmarks, both in attracting foreign investment into the US and also as a gate to Latin America”.

Following this, the first panel, titled ‘Why Miami’, focused on the growing strategic and commercial interest the city is acquiring for international investors, transcending the origin of their capital.

Investment and context

The international expansion of a company involves a multi-phase process. Research is the first and most crucial stage, as it is necessary to delve into the tax and legal systems of each country.

For this reason, the agenda guided attendees. The program began with essential and basic investment points through ‘Investing in LATAM’, and concluded with ‘Currency Risk’ and the volatility of local currencies. The event agenda guided attendees through the critical phases of international expansion. The day continued with a session dedicated to ‘Macro Trends’. After a coffee break, the program resumed its analysis with ‘Tax & Legal Frameworks’ and the evaluation of the impact of ‘US Tariffs’.

A shift in the investment perspective

The climax of the day offered a reversed and highly strategic perspective. Javier Yraola, Trade Commissioner for the Office of Spain in Miami, and Víctor Salamanca, CEO of Auxadi, concluded the event with a conversation about the flow of capital from Latin America to other regions of the world.

The focus was placed on Madrid as “a hub for LATAM investment in Europe”. In this regard, Yraola Burgos confirmed the growing interest, noting that 600 Latin American companies currently operate in Spain, with a notable trend in the arrival of “IT and service companies” to the Iberian territory.

Final note for LATAM Days 2025

Before concluding the I LATAM Days Miami, Auxadi CEO, Víctor Salamanca, announced the next event: “LATAM Days Madrid will be happening in June 2026, and we would love to have you all there”.

This announcement underscores the success of the first two editions, in Spain and the U.S., and confirms Auxadi’s commitment to continue facilitating high-value forums to deepen bidirectional investment between the United States, Spain, and Latin America.
