[Madrid, September 25, 2025] – The Cervantes Institute in New York hosted the high-level forum, ‘Latin America, the United States, and Spain in the Global Economy’, organized by the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The event, held on September 24th, brought together key figures from the economic and political spheres, including Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government of Spain, José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz.

Auxadi, an international firm specializing in accounting, payroll, tax, transfer pricing, and corporate legal services, participated as a featured sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to fostering economic ties within the strategic triangle connecting Europe, the United States, and Latin America. The firm was represented by Rima Yousfan, Board Member and VP of International Corporations, who moderated a panel discussion, and Margarita García, VP of Sales, Comm. & Marketing.

Auxadi promotes investment across the Europe-US-LATAM axis

The New York Forum served as a platform to analyze how the convergence of these three regions drives innovation and defines new global macroeconomic trends, addressing topics crucial for senior financial leadership and global capital management.

Auxadi’s active engagement with the region extends to its own initiatives. Following the success of LATAM Days in Madrid in June 2025 (focused on European investment into LATAM), the firm will host the first U.S. edition, dedicated to U.S. investment into Latin America, on November 18th in Miami, Auxadi’s main North American hub.

The agenda included in-depth discussions led by multinational company executives:

  • Sustainable Finance: Javier Rodríguez Soler (BBVA) analyzed “Finance as a Catalyst for the Green Economy”.
  • Infrastructure and Ecological Transition: Jaime Muguiro (CEMEX) explored the path toward a low-carbon construction sector.
  • Digital Health: Ivan Tornos (Zimmer Biomet) addressed the opportunities and challenges of healthcare in the digital age.
  • Energy Innovation: David Salvo (Power Electronics) debated the future of energy.
  • Infrastructure and Growth: Nicolas Rubio (Meridiem) presented infrastructure as a driver of development.

Auxadi in the global macroeconomic debate: consensus on Spain’s positive outlook

The forum’s closing session, ‘Global Macroeconomic Trends and Outlook’, was the featured panel and generated maximum interest among attending executives. Moderated by Rima Yousfan (Auxadi’s Board Member & VP of Intl. Corps), the discussion addressed the confluence of inflationary pressures, geopolitical tensions, and the urgent need for sustainable growth.

Ms. Yousfan led the conversation with two eminences in the global economy: Dr. Lisa M. Schineller, Ph.D. (Managing Director at S&P Global Ratings), and Joseph Stiglitz, University Professor at Columbia University and Nobel Laureate in Economics.

The moderator posed specific, key questions ranging from the evolution of sovereign ratings to how inequality undermines economic resilience. A major highlight of the session was the consensus between both experts regarding the Spanish economy: Dr. Schineller and Professor Stiglitz agreed that Spain’s evolution is positive and that the country is performing favorably in the current macroeconomic environment. The debate also focused on trade policy volatility and the role Spain and Latin America can play in strengthening transatlantic cooperation.

Following the roundtable led by Rima Yousfan, Pedro Sánchez intervened to address the economic landscape of the three regions. The Spanish Prime Minister first characterized the relationship between the United States and Europe as having “vibrant, yet close ties”, noting that the interregional trade volume “is equivalent to Spain’s GDP”. He then underscored Spain’s emerging role as a global benchmark, particularly in “the green and digital transformation and greater openness”. Finally, Sánchez expressed enthusiasm for the agreements with Latin American countries and international organizations. He highlighted the importance of the EU-Mercosur pact, which, he stressed, would create “a market of 700 million consumers, nearly 20% of global GDP”.

Auxadi’s strategic positioning, with two essential hubs in Madrid and Miami and 13 proprietary offices across the Americas, allows the firm to act as a key facilitator of investment and compliance management along the Europe-America axis.
