Well-stablished companies in Poland should prepare in a short-term to present detailed accounting information, at the same time with CIT, in a new electronic format JPK-CIT or SAFT-CIT. This measure will be mandatory from 1st January 2025, although not totally ready for every employer.  

Polish government’s willing to promote digitalization on a big number of processes between Administration and juridical people comes from many years ago. That is why this mechanism was firstly applied in 2016, on VAT and his specifically format: JPK-VAT. The aim is to make easier the comparability about information from different employers in order to permit a better vigilance, manage and scheduling to improve the quality of fiscal inspection.  

From right now, employers must provide detailed information in terms of of tangible and intangibles assets, transactions with related parties and potential differences between tax and financial results, among others. Therefore, there will many different phases: 

  • Firstly, companies whose revenue exceed EUR 50 Million will need to adapt their bookkeeping methods and systems before 2025 begins. As well as entities will report on this way on fiscal year 2025 
  • Secondly, those VAT taxpayers will face the measure from fiscal year 2026 
  • Lately, it will be mandatory for every employer from fiscal year 2027 

About Poland’s CIT, it is attractive to corporations. Since up to EUR 2 million of turnover, only 9% is applied., becoming one of the lowest in Central and Eastern Europe; whereas it is valued in 19% when exceeds that amount. Since 1st January 2021 it was introduced the Estonian CIT, which permits defer corporation tax until profits are distributed to partners.
