Auxadi returned to the Palacio de la Bolsa (Madrid Stock Exchange Palace) where Rima Yousfan, Board Member & VP of Client Relations, participated as a speaker at the 27th Latibex Forum, held on Tuesday, November 18. Auxadi's representative spoke on the panel 'Ibero-American investment in Spain: A two-way street', focusing on 'Investment Flows'.

Ibero-America in the future

The region's potential underwent an extended evaluation across four thematic blocks. The first series consisted of 'Macro analysis: macroeconomic perspectives in Ibero-America'. Next, the event covered the 'Keys to investing in Ibero-America', and conversely, 'Ibero-American investment in Spain'.

"The LATIBEX Top index has stabilized by more than 20%", emphasized Juan Flames, CEO & Head of BME Exchange, who also highlighted the "extraordinary performance of Brazil". During the morning, the expected regional growth of 2.4% was discussed, according to Silvia Morcillo, Content Director at Estrategias de Inversión.

Following this, exchange rate systems were introduced into various conversations. Furthermore, the expectations for 2026 were presented by country: Mexico, with "an increasingly intense government focus on the formalization of companies"; the development of the banking sector in Chile; and the revitalization of tourism in Colombia.

However, experts like Javier J. Pérez from the Bank of Spain stress the need for "control over public spending". Additionally, Mariano Fiorito, a representative from Schroders, assesses the two factors that determine Latin American economies: "In LATAM, 80% is political and 20% is macroeconomic, which is the reverse of what happens in more developed countries".

Spain as an investment recipient

The penultimate session hosted Rima Yousfan prior to the cocktail reception. She was accompanied by: Iván Juárez, Advisor at Atlántida Securities (a Salvadoran firm specializing in stock brokerage); Paula Ferrari, CEO of Go Global; and Juan José Moreno, CTO of Raven (a disruption consultancy). The panel was moderated by Adrián Blanco, Head of LATAM Desk at ICEX.

Ibero-America’s growth has boosted investment from member countries into other territories. On this occasion, the conversation focused on the host country: Spain, the primary destination for Latin American investment at the European level and second globally.

Experts in multinational internationalization discussed various factors that have promoted the entry of capital into Spain. The most highlighted topic was Double Taxation Treaties (DTT). Spain maintains 99 agreements in force, more than ten of which belong to Latin America.

The firm’s VP of Client Relations mentioned the Holding Companies of Foreign Securities (ETVE), referring to them as “a structure that is totally efficient”. Indeed, she stressed that it is “one of the most efficient in the world”.

Meanwhile, the speakers presented their knowledge and expectations regarding investment from Latin America. For example, Adrián Blanco highlighted that “Spain receives more financing than Italy, Germany, and France combined”. Furthermore, the CEO of the Argentine firm Go Global agreed that the Spanish capital also serves as a hub: “From Madrid, we manage the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, and India”.

Ibero-American investment was also discussed at the first edition of LATAM Days, where the most revealing data on the outflow of capital to other regions of the globe, such as Spain, was shared.
