According to the Chilean Central Bank, the national economy grew 1.9% during the first half of 2016, which means better figures than the analysts’ expectations.
This Institution released the National Accounts Report, where reported a GDP growth of 1.5% for the second quarter of the year.
It should be noted that the highest growth for the period comes from the Personal Services activities, followed by Commerce improving the negative effect in the Mining and Industry sectors.
The Institution also confirms that the internal demand increased 1.4% in the last 12 months, closing the first half with 1.3% growth. Without considerations of the seasonal variation, the domestic spending grew 0.9% over the previous quarter.
