Our XII Auxadi Solidarity Football Tournament 7 came to an end last Friday, 1 October. After a week of intense competition, the finals were held on the hallowed turf of the Unión Adarve football ground. Teams from Auxadi, Cisco, Transfer Pricing Specialist (TPS) and Unión Adarve rose to the challenge, and the Unión Adarve team claimed victory in an exciting and competitive final!

Above all, though, Friday was our chance to deliver a donation of €25,000 to Down Madrid. The funds were raised by all 14 competing teams and their companies, by voluntary donations, and with the help of our collaborators Arbentia and Inflexion.

Lidia López, Auxadi’s Head of Talent Management, presented the cheque to Elena Escalona, General Director of Down Madrid, saying: “We’re very proud to be able to celebrate our Charity Tournament again and, especially, to have managed to achieve the goal set for such a special project with so much impact.”

Down Madrid will allocate the donation to its “Teaching for life” project – an initiative for children with Down Syndrome and their families to help them acquire adaptive skills, enhance self-esteem, promote self-direction, and maximise their personal autonomy, with the aim of integrating with the wider world.

The Auxadi Charity Football Tournament 7 is one of our most rewarding initiatives and 2021 is the twelfth year of this amazing fundraising challenge. Each year, we collaborate with a social organisation to support a project in line with our mission, “to make life easier”. ThisCharity Tournament has been twice recognised in the Migranodearena.org awards as “Most Committed Company”.

This year’s tournament was only possible thanks to the contributions of the participating teams (Andersen, Afiens, Allen & Overy, Ceca Magán Abogados, Cisco, Fundación Aprender, Garrigues, Pérez-Llorca, Transfer Pricing Specialists and UDIMA), the sponsorship of Arbentia, and the collaboration of Inflexion and A.D. Unión Adarve.
