In 2016, there were changes at the level of parenting, occupational safety and health, and the return of Bank Holidays.

Law No. 28/2016, of August 23, the eleventh amendment to the labor code, approved by law No 7/2009, of February 12, the fifth amendment to the legal framework for the promotion of occupational safety and health, approved by law No. 102/2009, of September 10, and the third amendment to the legal framework for the exercise and licensing private placement agencies and temporary work companies approved by Decree-Law No. 260/2009, of September 25.

The law intends to act in combating the modern forms of forced labor. The changes were in the articles 174 and 551 of the labor code, article 16 of the legal framework for the promotion of safety and health at work, and article 13 of the legal regime of exercise and licensing of private placement agencies and temporary employment companies.

Law No. 8/2016, from April 1, the tenth amendment to the labor code restored the 13 mandatory public holidays, namely 1st January, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, 25 April, 1 May, Corpus Christi, 10th June, 15th of August, 5th of October, 1st of November, 1, 8 and 25 December. The 2016 table:

Law nº 120/2015 from September 1st, ninth amendment to the labor code, approved by law No 7/2009, of 12 February, reinforcing the rights of motherhood and fatherhood, the third amendment to Decree-Law No. 91/2009 of 9 April, and the second amendment to Decree-Law No. 89/2009 of 9 April. This theme was highlighted in our Newsletter of February and included here because despite of being published in 2015, it only came into effect in 2016.
