The Spanish (ICEX) and Brazilian (APEX) agencies for Promotion of Exports and Investments signed an agreement to promote investment, trade and cooperation between Spain and Brazil. The celebration of this Memorandum of Understanding took place during the Meeting “Spain-Brazil: towards a new business alliance” held at the headquarters of ICEX in Madrid.

Through this memo, which renews a previous one of 2010, ICEX and APEX-Brasil establish a new framework of institutional collaboration supporting trade and investment for the two following years.

During the meeting, ICEX declared Brazil as an strategic market. The Latin country is the second largest export market in Latin America for Spain, and the second destination of direct investment with a stock of over 54,000 million Euros of Spanish investments.

According to ICEX, in 2013 there were more than 950 Spanish companies in Brazil, which is a priority market (PIDM) for the Spanish Government since 2005
