On February 19 elections were held in Ecuador. The 2 binomials with the highest voting will participate in the second round of elections. The Moreno-Glas binomial obtained 39.36% of the votes and the Lasso-Páez binomial obtained 28.09% of the votes. These two binomials will face each other next April 2 to become President and Vice President of the Republic.

After the voting process on February 19, the National Assembly is constituted by 53% of Assembly members who are part of the current government or who are related to Movimiento Alianza País.

Both, Assembly Members and the new President and Vice-President will start their functions on May 24, 2017.
