Auxadi is always looking for different charity initiatives that fit with our values and activities, as well as projects our teams participate or bring to our attention.

Many people were moved by Diego Méntrida, the triathlete who starred in September’s gesture of sportsmanship that even excited actor Will Smith.

We have heard of Diego’s work to publicize the Fundación Síndrome de West, named for the rare disease (West Syndrome) that affects babies less than one year old. Affected children suffer catastrophic epileptic encephalopathy (where relentless epileptic activity leads to progressive brain dysfunction).

We at Auxadi, alongside our partner Inflexion and in conjunction with Zertior, have organized the #AuxadiWestChallenge: an internal competition for all our employees, where the movement, steps, and exercise we do will contribute to a donation to the Foundation.

Employees who voluntarily participate in this challenge log their activity in the Google Fit app. The steps they take or exercise they do results in ‘heart points’, which add to their team’s total. Each Auxadi team works together to collect the most points.

But there is no rivalry and no single winning team for this challenge. We are collectively moving to help the children connected with the Foundation, support the work of people like Diego Méntrida, and fight the disease itself.

Lidia López from Auxadi’s Talent Management says: “It is very important for Auxadi to be able to contribute to projects that have a real impact on society. It’s a pleasure to be able to support an initiative as beautiful as Diego’s, which is so aligned with our values, and by doing so bring together Auxadi’s employees. And at the same time, we can encourage our teams to lead a healthier lifestyle.”

This initiative is running until April 12, 2021 and can be followed through the hashtag: #AuxadiWestChallenge.
